Super Consumers Australia statement on the announcement of the retirement of the Hon. Stephen Jones MP
Super Consumers Australia wishes the Assistant Treasurer and Financial Services Minister Stephen Jones well following the announcement of his retirement.
Super Consumers CEO Xavier O’Halloran commended the Minister for his engaged and open approach to working with consumer groups, and for his efforts to improve outcomes for superannuation consumers.
“During Stephen Jones’ time in office, there has been some key progress for Australians with super. Most notably, the implementation of important equity measures, including payday super, and the introduction of super on Commonwealth supported paid parental leave. Most recently, the announcement that the Federal Government plans to introduce mandatory customer service standards for super funds. There is still work to be done, but the Assistant Treasurer has established a process to strengthen the super system and ensure millions of Australians are treated fairly and respectfully when dealing with their super.”
Super Consumers wishes Stephen Jones all the best for the future.
